twitter...tweet tweet

I recently jumped on the Twitter band wagon and noticed this killer shot on their blog, taken by photographer Mugsley...I believe to be an Australian photographer.  The image is a composite from two images and I absolutely love the composition.

Nicely done mate!  Now if I could only find a baby kangaroo in Toronto...hmm

Not Available in Canada?

With the latest storms coming from our friends south of the border, I found a copy of 'Nikon School, A Hands-on Guide to Creative Lighting DVD on one of our snow banks...shhhh!

Yeah it turn's out that this very popular DVD cannot be sold or ordered via Nikon Mall into Canada...what's going on eh?  Anyhow one of our U.S. photographers was nice enough to help our team out....thanks Tim!

This DVD has been highly anticipated by many students here!  It is also known to have some remarkable instruction on the portable Nikon Speedlights, by Bob Krist and Joe McNally!

I'll be sure to tell you all what I think and provide a review sometime in the near future.

Justification for a higher education.

Yahoo!

The American people and the rest of the world witnessed a historical U.S. inauguration today.  I wasn't really into the yankie doodle, all day super bowl style, lavish event!  Let's see if this man can lift a global economy up from it's current meltdown...aside from being cynical...I'd say this:  "Yahoo...let's get back to business"

Yes we can!

Congratulations President Obama.

pizza making fun!

First pizza making is a great way to get some photographs and new content for the blog!  I heard recently that children who watch 3.5 hours of television a day, develop attention disorders later in life and do a very poor job at listening to their parents.  So now I'm trying to get my little guy involved with everyday activities around the home.

Pizza making instructions-FREE!

Grab fresh dough from the local store along with the fixin's(flour, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, mozzarella cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, black pepper).  Don't forget your pizza sauce(Ragu, Bravo or Classico)!

Make sure you have a pizza oven screen, a rolling pin, cutter and a cutting dish!

Normally we get all the fixin's in order for a smooth workflow.

Depending on your selection of dough, white or whole wheat, first grab some flour and spread it around the dough.  You want to coat the entire dough before your begin to roll it with a rolling-pin.  Once you have your size of choice all rolled out, transfer it to your pizza tray.

-spread pizza sauce on dough
-sprinkle a little oregano, basil and garlic powder over the sauce
-add the grated mozzerella
-spread out your pepperoni's
-add the mushrooms, green peppers and onions
-pre-heat oven to 450 degrees and bake for 20-30 minutes(check periodically)
-remove from oven, transfer pizza to cutting board and serve!

Give yourself a few attempts before you find that preferred pizza flavour.  You can add more spices or cut out some of the fixin's out.  Maybe take things to the next level by adding toppings like bacon or pineapple, perhaps add a different kind of cheese?

Enjoy!

Shutterbug

Happy new year!  It's been a quick first week for 2009...the holiday's were a blur(always are).  Jackson got his first camera for Christmas and the lesson's have begun.  He is the youngest student and in his own class.  This young shutterbug receives a decent amount of one-on-one time with his daddy, all part of my new year's resolution.  The camera in this photo is the latest hot ticket item by Little Tikes and serves well as a child's first camera.
