Little JJ turned 3 last week, we celebrated with a birthday party this past long weekend ;)

Mini photo shoots

I dug these images up from the archives...I remember that shoot very well(look at him).  We set up softboxes and speedotron lights over at the JDC warehouse(thanks Dad) with some seamless paper.  I had some oufits lined up and props.  Put my skills to the test and just shot a whole bunch of images for the family collection.  During those times, I remember learning new lighting techniques while my son modelled for us.  Lot's of fun!

Anyhow a fellow pap from Las Vegas, pro photographer Tim Jackson had recently worked on some projects with Nikon Speedlights and some seamless paper.  Tim has inspired me to push more children's photography and I'll be sure to post some of his shots too.  I'm trying to book more children's photography(everyone's having babies)...so I'll be sure to work on some future posts with regards to studio style imagery surrounding the wee ones.

First day of snow!

A new beginning!

This photo is probably the most powerful shot that I have ever taken!  I was still realizing that I was officially a Father and my son had been born into this world.  My Wife was being cared by the doctors, for her incredible performance in giving birth.  And I was just getting to know this new human being that we call Jackson...so this hallmark's my legacy and commitments to him and the photograph's I take of him.  Joey Images is only the beginning...the vault is now open!

what is joey images?

Well so far it's just a new idea of mine...I would like to start applying my paparazzi and celebrity photography skills to the little people!  Being a dad has opened up my mind more and it has also helped me prioritize my life!

I'm still working on the 'joeyimages' branding with my name though and I'd like to get an illustrator to design a baby Kangaroo for my logo?
